Believers are wholly dependent on the enabling power of the Spirit of Christ to perform good works, and while God works in us both the desire and ability to do His will, we must actively engage in our duties without laziness. Even the most obedient Christian falls short of perfect obedience, but sincere good works are accepted by God through Jesus Christ. Unregenerate individuals may perform good deeds, but without faith, these are not pleasing to God.
